Hi my name is Mary Bradley ( nee Clancy) . I am the granddaughter of Jack and Margaret Hammond ( nee Bradshaw late of Coolderry) and Main St,Mc Donagh Square . My mother is Brede Hammond. She is the 2 nd of 5...Mary, Brede, Kathleen ,Agnes and Patrick. Mary celebrated her 100 th Birthday on April Ist last ,Brede is 99 in May and Patrick will be 92 next Birthday. Sadly we lost Kathleen and Agnes in recent years at 93 and 92..it must have been the water in Borris and their happy happy times growing up there that gives them their longevity! Mary celebrated with her family,her nieces nephew and friends,neighbours and her many wonderful carers with a wonderful afternoon on Sunday last in The Sandymount Hotel in Balls bridge Dublin. It was a great occasion and the talk was of Borris,Granny in Chapel St,the Bradshaws and cousin Jimmy Murphy. All happy reminiscing about times gone by ,the Sand Trap and all fun stories of the goings on in a small rural village and the great characters that made life there so enjoyable.
