ILEIGH CHURCH CELEBRATES 200 YEARS 1826 – 2026
Ileigh Church Bicentenary Celebration
Ileigh Church Bicentenary Celebration takes place on Friday next (19th June), beginning with concelebrated Mass in Ileigh Church. Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly will be he principal celebrant. Afterwards there will be refreshments and entertainment in Borrisoleigh G.A.A Centre. All are very welcome. For those who wish to watch this Mass online the link is: www.churchcamlive.ie/borrisoleighparish. Could I ask people to bring in confectionary to the G.A.A centre on Friday evening 19th June from 5pm, it would be very much appreciated. – Fr. Hennessy.

Will hold its monthly Parent Support Evening on Wed 17th June 2026 at 7.30pm in the Horse and Jockey Hotel, Thurles. This event is free and open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or how recent their death was. You do not need to register in advance. FREE TALK ON BEREAVEMENT
Tues 23rd June 2026, 7-8.30pm, Milford Care Centre Education Dept, Castletroy, Limerick. The evenings are designed to give general information on grief and bereavement to bereaved people, their family, and friends. Members of the Bereavement Service will be present to answer specific questions, however counselling is not available on the evening. Job Title: Community Employment Scheme Worker (Part-Time – 19.5 Hours)
Location: Community sites across Holycross, Borrisoleigh and Upperchurch
Programme: Community Employment (CE) Scheme – Ireland
Overview:
We are currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Community Employment (CE) Scheme. This is a part-time opportunity designed to support participants in gaining valuable work experience while contributing positively to the local community.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be aged 21 years or over
- Must meet Community Employment Scheme eligibility requirements (as per Department of Social Protection guidelines)
Key Responsibilities:
- General gardening and grounds maintenance
- Grass cutting and lawn care
- Painting and basic maintenance of community facilities
- Upkeep of outdoor spaces including litter control and tidying
- Assisting with minor repairs and improvement projects
- Supporting community events and activities when required
Skills & Qualities:
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Interest in outdoor work and community involvement
- Previous experience is an advantage but not essential
What We Offer:

- Part-time hours (19.5 per week)

Eucharistic Adoration
Adoration in the Church of the Sacred Heart Borrisoleigh will take place after 10:00am Mass until 11:30 am on Wednesdays and Fridays
Adult Set Dancing Classes
Adult Set Dancing classes are taking place every Monday night in Finns Pub @ 8pm. Michael Cooney is running them. All are welcome
