Cashel & Emly Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock

The Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Irelands National Eucharistic & Marian Shrine Knock, will take place on Sunday 2nd August led by Archbishop Kieran O’Reilly. The Pilgrimage programme commences at 2pm with Rosary, 2.30pm Anointing of the sick, 3.00pm Concelebrated Mass followed by Eucharistic Blessing, Rosary Procession to the Shrine (weather permitting) and Blessing of Religious Objects. Sacred Music on the day will be led by Cashel & Emly Diocesan Choir. We look forward to welcoming Pobal Ailbhe to Knock Shrine on our Diocesan Day.

40-HOUR VIGIL FOR WORLD PEACE AND VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD AND RELIGIOUS LIFE

 JULY 24th-26th in Bóthar Na Naomh Church, commencing Friday, July 24th at 7.00 p.m. with Mass and Benediction. Adoration continues until before Mass Sunday morning. ANNUAL PIONEER PILGRIMAGE AT KNOCK SHRINE

The annual Pioneer pilgrimage Mass at Knock Shrine will be celebrated in the Basilica at 3pm next Sunday 19 July 2026. Pioneers extend a welcome to families and relatives of people who are undergoing treatment for addiction at this time. Pioneer emblems and certificates will be available in St John’s Rest and Care Centre from 1pm. People who are in recovery / aftercare and who live by the 12 Step Programme are particularly welcome to Knock during this Golden Jubilee Year of the Basilica of Our Lady Queen of Ireland. Niamh Keane & Whistle Live at Finn’s Folk Club | Sunday 26th July

We’d love to invite you to join us at Finn’s Folk Club for what promises to be a memorable evening of live music featuring Niamh Keane and Whistle on Sunday, 26th July.

Fresh from appearances at festivals including Electric Picnic and Galway Folk Festival, Niamh Keane is one of Ireland’s most exciting emerging folk artists. A gifted singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, her music beautifully blends contemporary folk with Irish traditional and classical influences, creating an intimate and captivating live performance.

Joining Niamh on the night are Whistle, a much-loved traditional Irish folk band renowned for their rich harmonies, lively musicianship and engaging stage presence. Together, they promise an evening of outstanding music that celebrates both traditional and contemporary Irish folk.

Job Title: Community Employment Scheme Worker (Part-Time – 19.5 Hours)

Location: Community sites across Holycross, Borrisoleigh and Upperchurch
Programme: Community Employment (CE) Scheme – Ireland

Overview:
We are currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Community Employment (CE) Scheme. This is a part-time opportunity designed to support participants in gaining valuable work experience while contributing positively to the local community.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be aged 21 years or over
  • Must meet Community Employment Scheme eligibility requirements (as per Department of Social Protection guidelines)

Key Responsibilities:

  • General gardening and grounds maintenance
  • Grass cutting and lawn care
  • Painting and basic maintenance of community facilities
  • Upkeep of outdoor spaces including litter control and tidying
  • Assisting with minor repairs and improvement projects
  • Supporting community events and activities when required
  •  

Skills & Qualities:

  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Good timekeeping and reliability
  • Interest in outdoor work and community involvement
  • Previous experience is an advantage but not essential

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration in the Church of the Sacred Heart Borrisoleigh will take place after 10:00am Mass until 11:30 am on Wednesdays and Fridays


Adult Set Dancing Classes

Adult Set Dancing classes are taking place every Monday night in Finns Pub @ 8pm. Michael Cooney is running them. All are welcome


Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates started in June and runs until the end of August. All are welcome.
