Hello! I live in Sydney Australia and my great great grandmother was Margaret Leahy (born 1842) who emigrated from Borrisoleigh in 1863 (arriving January 1864 in Sydney on The Ida). I know that her parents were Tom Leahy and Rose (Ryan) and Margaret claimed a sister, Maria who lived in Sydney. Her passage was sponsored by a William Scully who married a Bridget Leahy. Margaret had five children. She married George Willoughby who apparently was from Lincolnshire, England, however, I can’t find a record of his arrival in Australia. I am descended from their youngest son, Sidney Mallachy Willoughby. Margaret lived to the grand old age of 97 and died in Sydney. She is buried with her husband at Waverley Cemetery.
