Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club Notes

Under 10s:
Our Under 10s make their season debut on Saturday with a home venue for the County blitz. In their group they have Knockavilla, Thurles and Moyne Templetouhy.  Games will start at 10am.

Under 12s:
Our Under 12s had a busy week last week. On Wednesday night they travelled to Holycross to play the host club in a challenge match while on Sunday they made the trip to Inniscarra in Cork to play in a series of games.

Under 14s:
Our Under 14s are in championship action on Friday night next with an away fixture with Newport at 7pm.

On Friday night last,  they had a very good work out against Holycross in a series of challenge matches.

Under 16s:
Our Under 16’s kicked off their Championship run with an away game against Knockavilla-Donaskeigh Kickhams on Wednesday night last. Despite a very spirited display,  them came out on the wrong side of a 3-10 to 3-04 scoreline.

Tonight (Wednesday), they face Clonoulty in Borrisoleigh at 7pm.

Intermediates:
Our Intermediate team travelled to Ballinderry on Saturday last to play Shannon Rovers in the County Intermediate League.

On the day we fielded a very youthful team with four Under 16s and four minors in the starting 15.

Although we were defeated on a 2-06 to 0-11 scoreline, the team management will be very happy with the many positives shown throughout the hour.

We have a bye this week from League action but on Friday night,  we take on Windgap in a challenge match in Borrisoleigh at 8pm.

National League Success:
Congratulations to our Club Development Officer Mikey Bevans on coaching the Waterford Senior hurling team to success in the National hurling league.

Borrisoleigh Cycling

Last Sunday we had 2 groups on the road in beautiful spring sunshine. The easy going group met in Moneygall and cycled to Mount St. Joseph Abbey where we stopped for refreshments and enjoyed our visit before returning via Dunkerrin. The second group did a 40km local loop with lovely views of The Devils Bit mountain on the way.
