The U16 hurling Championship has commenced with three games played to date. We lost to Shannon Rovers /Lorrha by 3 points and to Moneygall on a scoreline 4-03 to 8pts. We beat Silvermines in Dolla on Monday evening on a scoreline of 2-15 to 3-05. The next fixture is against Portroe on Monday 21st at home.

 Borris-Ileigh GAA Notes

Senior Hurling: As of yet there has been no fixture made for our north quarter final against Toomevara. The fixture will depend upon how Tipperary fares against Dublin in the All Ireland Quarter Final on the 27th of July. We will let people know once we know more details.

Junior Hurling: Our Junior A team take to the field again this weekend in the 3rd match of their campaign. Moneygall are the opposition this time and the game will take place on Sunday at 12 noon in Toomevara. We have 1 win and 1 loss from our opening 2 games and a victory here is vital. As always your support is greatly appreciated.

Our Junior Bs are in action as well this weekend in what will be their 2nd championship game. On Saturday evening we travel to Cloughjordan to take on Lorrha at 7pm. We lost our opening game against Kildangen so again a big performance is needed here.

Minor Hurling: There was no minor game last week as it was our bye week. This week we will be taking on Toomevara on Thursday evening at 7:30pm in Templederry.

U16 Hurling: Our u16 team got their first win of their campaign on Monday night in Dolla against SIlvermines. With the game a draw at half time and facing into a strong gale for the second half our lads showed huge character to get the win on a scoreline of 2-15 to 3-05. The team that lined out was: Aaron Rabbitte, Seamus Ryan, Jack Prior, Oran Bergin, John Ryan, Aaron Reid, Alvis Danko, David McCormack, Jamie Corcoran, Dan Brooks, Jerry Kelly, Ray McCormack, Aaron Donnelly, Conor Keane, Patrick O Connell. Subs Used: Nicky Cooney, Micháel Ryan

Intercounty Hurling: Well done to Tipperary who had an emphatic 17 point win over Offaly last Saturday evening in Portlaoise. It was great to see Tipperary put victories back to back after a disappointing few weeks. Tipperary will now take on Dublin in an All Ireland Quarter Final. This game will take place on July 27th in Semple Stadium at 4pm. The game will be preceded by Limerick V Wexford/Waterford at 2pm. Tickets will cost €30 for both stands while the terrace will cost €20. Juvenile tickets cost just €5 and there will be concessions for students and OAPs at designated gates. Again, well done to Tipp and especially to our 3 club representatives; Brendan Maher, Paddy Stapleton and Conor Kenny.

Best of luck to Dan McCormack who lines out for the Tipperary u21 team this Wednesday evening(16th) against Clare in Cusack Park, Ennis at 7:30pm.
