Bush & Briar Ramblers.

With the arrival of improved weather, we had 2 great outings last weekend.
It was nice to walk in the hills without rain as a companion.

The wind from Hurricane Darwin has knocked a lot of trees in the Latteragh woodlands
making some of the route more like an obstacle course than a hill walk!

We had a big turn out both days with the groups doing longer than usual walking in order
to summit out on Knockanora (the Tower) where we relaxed for lunch and enjoyed the views,
although it was a little overcast for the Sunday gang.

Many thanks to all who participated in our ventures on last Saturday and Sunday in Latteragh.
It is you that make these walks enjoyable.

Our next outing is:
Sunday 23th February :

Meeting at the rear car park of Shanahan’s Service Station,
Borrisoleigh at 08.50hrs for departure at 09.00hrs.
Boots essential.
Waterproofs and something to eat and drink are recommended.
We look forward to seeing you out with us.

Walking Track: We would like to inform people that dogs are now banned from the new walking track and field as a number of people have being refusing to clean up after their dogs. We regret to have to come to this decision but a number of people have made complaints about the amount of dog dirt on the walking track and we had to take action.

Membership: Membership can now be paid to secretary Gerry Treacy or registrars John Bradshaw and Martin Fahy. We ask all players to have their membership paid as soon as possible as they will not be considered for selection without it. Please make contact if you have not paid your membership or you would like to join as a first time member

Tipperary Supporters Club: If there is anyone wishing to join or to re-join the Tipperary Supporters Club please contact TF Stapleton. The cost is just €30 and comes with a number of benefits regarding the Tipperary hurling set up.

Inter County: Well done to Brendan Maher and the Tipperary squad who overcame Waterford by three points on Saturday night in the opening round of the league. They will now face Kilkenny next weekend in Nowlan Park.

All County Table Quiz: This Friday night Borris-Ileigh GAA Club will host the All County Table Quiz in Stapletons Bar. The funds raised will go to help finance the running of Tipperary hurling teams through 2014. There are some great prizes on off and a great night is in store.
