First Holy Communion Day in Borrisoleigh

First Holy Communion Day was celebrated in Borrisoleigh on Sunday May 29th last. Eighteen pupils from our three primary schools, St. Theresa’s N.S., St. Patrick’s N.S. and Scoil Bhríde, Fantane received their First Holy Communion on the day. Fr. Liam Everard PP was the main celebrant at the Mass during which he complimented all concerned for their efforts in preparing the young boys and girls for this important day in their lives. He especially thanked teachers Mrs Maeve Slattery, Mrs Mary Butler and Ms Deirdre Harrison and the other teachers for their invaluable work and example with the children throughout the year.

St. Patrick’s BNS qualify for Co. Final.

Congratulations to the U-11 teams from St. Patrick’s BNS who represented us so well at the Co. Semi-Final Blitz in Littleton on Thursday. It was a great achievement for a school of our size to qualify to represent North Tipperary in both sections of this competition and great credit is due to the boys all who have helped to develop our young hurlers and to cultivate their skills to this level.
Following a series of exciting matches we are delighted to report that our team which competed in Section B have qualified for the Co. Final. This game will be played in Semple Stadium on June 14th or 15th. Following an exciting win over Moycarkey NS our Section A team were unlucky to lose out to Powerstown NS by the narrowest of margins. Well done to all concerned!

Well done also to our up and coming stars in First and Second Classes who participated in a blitz involving schools from Templemore, Thurles and Upperchurch at Dr. Morris Park on Friday, May 17th. Proving that we have many exciting days to look forward to our talented hurlers did us proud and had a great day
