The O Donnell and Treacy Family with their bundles of joy!

A special blessing was given to all babies that were baptized in the parish during 2010.  The  blessing took place at the 11.30 Mass on Sunday on what was the Feast of the Baptism of Jesus. After Mass, parents and children along with their grandparents and some godparents came to the Community centre for refreshments. A large crowd of both very young and old assembled for what was a very enjoyable morning.

Scór na nÓg County Final 2011

Dressed for action and looking the part – the smiles say it all!

Borrisoleigh was well represented in the Scór na nÓg County Final last Friday night, 7th of January in Halla na Féile in Cashel. There was a very full program and the standard in all competitions was extremely high on the night. Eimear Ryan recited a passage from Angela’s Ashes, the Confirmation Suit, and Cloda Scanlon sang Teddy O’Neill with guitar as accompaniment. The Novelty Act team amused all with their antics. Dean, Cloda, Sarah G, Thomas, Jack, Dylan, Sarah, and Paudi will end up with their names in lights yet! The final competition of the night was Set Dancing. With their quick feet, Rebecca, Aisling, Sarah, Eimear, Eimear, Lorna, Cloda and Sarah G danced proudly for Borris. All the participants did their club proud. Well done to all.

Eimear and Cloda were victorious in the North Final in the Recitiation and Solo Song competitions respectively

Eimear Ryan entertained all in the Recitation and Clodagh Scanlon sang beautifully in the solo song. Both advanced to the County Final. Clodagh, and Emer also participated in the Instrumental Music along with Aisling Kiely and Sarah Ryan, The girls did Borris proud on the night. The Question Time team of Dean Ryan, Jack Hogan and Thomas Ryan came up with a lot of the answers but were pipped at the post.
