Borris-Ileigh GAA Club Notes
Senior:
Our Seniors are through to the North Senior Hurling Championship Semi Final after an impressive victory over Toomevara in Nenagh last Sunday. In very testing the conditions we made use of a strong breeze in the first half to take a 0-13 to 0-06 lead at halftime. In a very physical second half we managed to maintain our advantage to win out 0-20 to 0-12. A great effort by our lads, well done to all involved.
The team which took to the field is as follows:
Jack Bourke.
Matthew Stapleton, Thomas Fahy, Ciaran Cowan.
Paddy Stapleton, Brendan Maher 0-11(0-10f), Liam Ryan.
Jack Hogan 0-01, Sean McCormack.
Conor Kenny 0-03, Dan McCormack 0-04, Niall Kenny 0-01.
Keith Ryan, Kieran Maher, Vincent Stapleton.
We will now face either Nenagh, Templederry or Kiladangan in the Semi Final, the draw will be made in the next couple of weeks.
Upcoming Fixtures:
Our U12’s continue their impressive start to the championship against Roscrea this Friday evening. They are going for three victories in a row after a 2-07 to 1-08 victory over Nenagh. Our U14’s also take on Kilruane on Wednesday the 7th of June in Kilruane in the Second Round of the ‘B’ championship.
All support greatly appreciated.

As a follow on from our Fenian Rebellion commemoration held in Glenkeen on March 5th last, a re-enactment of the ensuing summer assizes trials of the captured prisoners was held in Nenagh courthouse on Monday evening last. This pagent took place in the exact same court room where the original trials were held 150 years ago.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers needed to help with the upkeep of flowerbeds in the village. Meet in the town park every Wednesday from 9.30-11a.m. We would also like to ask people to be vigilant and on the watch out, as flowers planted in the raised bed in the community park have been taken.
