Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

The AGM of the Borrisoleigh Active Social Club takes place this evening (Wed) March 1st at 7pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.

This Club is open to men & women and new members are always welcome. Membership cards for 2023 will be available for collection on the night.

Parish News

Eucharistic Adoration

The Archdiocese of Cashel & Emly is developing its Diocesan Adoration Lay Committee in order to increase the practice of Eucharistic Adoration in all parishes. You are welcome to attend an Information Meeting in The Parish Hall, St. Michael St. Tipperary on Saturday 18th March at 11am (finishing at 12.30). Light refreshments served. See poster in the Church for further details of how to attend, or contact the Parish Office promptly.

Change in Mass times

As you are aware we are reducing the number of Masses in the parish from three to two and there will be also a change in Mass times. From 25th/26th February the new Mass times are as follows: –

Saturday 7pm in Borrisoleigh

Sunday 11am in Illeigh.

The Priests of our group of parishes will rotate on the third weekend of every month beginning in March.. So for example on March 18th/19th Fr. Hennessy will celebrate the weekend Masses in Drom/Inch parish and Fr. Hayes P.P. Templemore will celebrate the weekend Masses here in this parish.

Bernie Kinnane awarded Benemerenti medal

At the request of Fr Hennessy P. P., Pope Francis has awarded Bernie Kinnane, Kilfithmone, Borrisoleigh with the Benemerenti Medal for her many years of dedicated service to the church. The medal is awarded to the members of the clergy and laity for service to the church. Bernie has given over thirty years dedicated service as Sacristan to our two parish churches

On Friday the 24th of February, the Scór na bPaistí North Final took place in Portroe. It was great to see Scór back in full swing after covid. Borrisoleigh were represented in seven categories. We performed extremely well in all and we were thrilled to come first in 4 of the categories. These 4 are: figure dancing, solo song, novelty act and set dancing. We came 2nd out of 8 teams in the quiz and were unlucky not to progress to the finals in that. Our Ballad group and Instrumental group were pitch perfect in categories of a very high standard.

We are delighted to be well represented in The County Final which will take place on March 12th in Cashel.

North Champions Set Dancing:

The Scór na nÓg competition takes place in March this year. This is for those under 17. Anyone/ any group that wishes to participate please contact Carol Bradshaw (086 371 2952)

Knitting and Crochet Group

Knitting and Crochet Group continues to meet every Wednesday at 10am. New members with other skills or none always welcome.
