Borrisoleigh Historical Society

Attention all history fans. This Saturday 23 rd May we will gather at Dovea
House at 1.15pm for departure at 1.30 pm sharp for Killahara, Dovea, and Loughmore to
finish at the cottage at 3.30pm for some refreshments. We will be tracing the lives and
footsteps of the Cormack Brothers who were innocently hanged at Nenagh Gaol on May 11,
1858, one hundred and sixty-eight years ago. Our guide for the afternoon will be John
Flannery of Ormond Historical Society. After exhumation in 1910, the brothers were interred
in a mausoleum in Loughmore. The cortege passed through Borrisoleigh, see below. This
promises to be a very interesting field trip with expert guidance. If you need a lift or wish to
carpool or share, please contact Michael Delaney 0862262022.
