We are hosting a talk on the old Convent, Pallas Street, on Friday 28th November in the Community Centre at 8 p.m. The speaker will be Patricia Corcoran. This will be very interesting for everyone.

PARISH SOCIAL

The Parish Social will be held in the Community Centre on Saturday Nov 29th after the 7pm Mass. This social is a way of expressing thanks to all who minister and help out in the parish. For example, these would include: choir members, readers, eucharistic ministers, money collectors & counters, sacristans etc. if you would like to attend, please let Sinead or Fr. Hennessy know as there will be hot food served on the night, and we will need to know numbers.

 

ROSARIES IN CEMETERIES FOR NOVEMBER

On Saturday 22nd Nov, after 7pm Mass the Rosary will be prayed for the priests of the parish who are interred in the Church grounds.

 

CHURCH GATE COLLETION

There is a church gate collection for Scoil Naomh Cualan the weekend of 22nd and 23rd Nov.

 

BORRISOLEIGH COMMUNITY CENTRE

The Annual General Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Borrisoleigh Community Centre will take place at 7.45pm on the 2nd of December in the Community Centre. All are welcome to attend.

 

MUNSTER DAY RETREAT

Day Retreat for young people in collaboration with Youth 2000 – on Saturday 29th November in Mary Immaculate College, Thurles.  Registration: 8.45am – Start: 9.30am – End: 6pm. Donation only event. From ages 16-35. “I thank you, Lord, with all my heart.” Psalm 138:1.

 

ANAM CARA

Will holds its monthly Parent Support Evening on Wednesday 19th Nov @ 7.30pm in the Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles.

 

GROW MENTAL HEALTH

Are hosting a 2nd Housing Information Workshop which takes place next Thursday 13th November in the Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles at 11 a.m. This is a free event. First Saturday Conference in Knock

To mark the 100th anniversary of the First Saturday Apparition in Pontevedra, Spain,  there will be a special conference in Knock on the first Saturday in December –  December 6th.  The day begins with adoration and confessions at 10am in the Reconciliation Chapel.  There will be three talks from Bishop John Keenan, Antonia Moffat, and Fr Philip Kemmy in St John’s Centre.  There will also be the Rosary led by the Children’s Rosary group, a 15 minute meditation led by Fr. Marius O’Reilly, as Our Lady requested for the First Saturdays, and time for lunch.  At Fatima, Our Lady promised that there would be peace in the world and that many souls would be saved through this devotion.  For more details please visit firstsaturdays.ie

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club Christmas party takes place on Sun Dec 7th in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh. The day will start with Mass at 2pm followed by Christmas Dinner and music & dancing with Phil & Johnny. Cost is €20 and places are limited. If interested please give your name to either Eileen 087 9849848 or Lucia 086 3961211 before Dec 3rd.  

The Christmas shopping trip this year is to Athlone on Dec 5th.  Cost is €30 which covers bus & meal on the way home. 
 
Next meeting is Wednesday Dec 3rd at 7pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.

The Marian Hall AGM will be held Monday November 24th in the hall at 8pm

Coolderry School Reunion

Coolderry School closed in July 1975 and to commemorate the closing Fr. Hennessy will celebrate Mass. This will take place in Borrisoleigh Church on the 28th of November at 8pm for deceased past pupils and teachers.

Refreshments will be served in Stapletons pub after Mass and all past pupils and friends are invited. We hope it will be a night of chat, memories and renewed friendships.

 


Knitting and Crochet Group

Knitting and Crochet Group meet every Wednesday from 10.00am to 11.30am in the Community Centre.

Borrisoleigh Community Centre Polytunnel 🌱

The Borrisoleigh Community Centre Polytunnel is looking for donations to help us grow and develop our space. If you have any of the following items you no longer need, we would be so grateful. The aim is to grow food for the meals on wheels 
 
Plant pots and containers (including seed trays, window boxes, etc.)
 
Bulbs, plants, or roses
 
Herb cuttings and other plant cuttings
 
Irish shrubs (no trees or hedging, please)
 
Every contribution makes a big difference, and all donations will be put to good use in this community project.
 
👉 Donations can be dropped off at Borrisoleigh Community Centre during opening hours or left outside the polytunnel while the church gates are open.

Adult Set Dancing classes are taking place every Monday night in Finns Pub @ 8pm. Michael Cooney is running them. All are welcome.
