Borrisoleigh Tidy Towns

Borrisoleigh Tidy Towns will be holding a Church Gate Collection at 7pm on Saturday, 30th May at Sacred Heart Church, Borrisoleigh.

Your support would be greatly appreciated and will help us purchase supplies to keep our community looking its best for everyone to enjoy.

All donations are sincerely appreciated.

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club next meeting takes place on Thursday June 4th at 7pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh. This will be the last meeting for the summer but we’ll be Active with outings.

Last Friday a group went to Knock for the day. The weather was very kind to us and on the way home we had a lovely meal in O’Sullivans Hotel, Gort.

Our next outing is on Friday June 26th. We will be aiming to leave Borrisoleigh at 10am heading to Solas Eco Garden Centre in Portarlington. We will then head onto Emo Court House for a guided tour. On our way home we will have a meal (venue to be decided). Cost for the day €35. If interested in going, names to be given to Lucia 086 3961211 and payment to be made at the meeting on June 4th.

Job Title: Community Employment Scheme Worker (Part-Time – 19.5 Hours)

Location: Community sites across Holycross, Borrisoleigh and Upperchurch
Programme: Community Employment (CE) Scheme – Ireland

Overview:
We are currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Community Employment (CE) Scheme. This is a part-time opportunity designed to support participants in gaining valuable work experience while contributing positively to the local community.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must be aged 21 years or over
Must meet Community Employment Scheme eligibility requirements (as per Department of Social Protection guidelines)

Key Responsibilities:

General gardening and grounds maintenance
Grass cutting and lawn care
Painting and basic maintenance of community facilities
Upkeep of outdoor spaces including litter control and tidying
Assisting with minor repairs and improvement projects
Supporting community events and activities when required

Skills & Qualities:

Willingness to learn and take direction
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Good timekeeping and reliability
Interest in outdoor work and community involvement
Previous experience is an advantage but not essential

Part-time hours (19.5 per week)

Knitting and Crochet Group meet every Wednesday from 10.00am to 11.30am in the Community Centre.

PADRE PIO PILGRIMAGE 2026:

We are happy to announce that devotees of St. Pio will be welcomed back to Holycross Abbey once again for our National Pilgrimage on Sunday 31st May. Ceremonies will begin at 1.30pm with concelebrated Mass at 3pm. All are welcome

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration in the Church of the Sacred Heart Borrisoleigh will take place after 10:00am Mass until 11:30 am on Wednesdays and Fridays

Adult Set Dancing Classes

Adult Set Dancing classes are taking place every Monday night in Finns Pub @ 8pm. Michael Cooney is running them. All are welcome
