Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

The October meeting of Borrisoleigh Active Social Club takes place tonight (Wednesday) October 4th at 7pm in the Community Centre. A group of our members heading are off for their Autumn break next Sunday to Kenmare. Among their activities they will visit Garnish Island and Allihies Copper Mines. Hopefully everybody has a great time.

U-15 Hurlers:

Congratulations to our U-15 hurlers who won the North Final las weekend. It was a great achievement. Well done to all concerned.

Senior Camogie

Hard luck to our Senior Camogie Team who lost the county semi final in the Ragg last Sunday. Despite their best efforts they just came up short on the day. Well done to them all on what was a fantastic 1st season in the Senior Division.

3. The Diocese of Elphin wishes to recruit a Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The role is to foster existing initiatives in youth and young adult ministry, and to work towards building the relationships which will lead to fresh initiatives in centres of population throughout the Diocese of Elphin. Scoil Naomh Cualán

Cross Country Championship

There were smiles all round in Scoil Naomh Cualán last Thursday after the cross country championship in Thurles. It’s always a great event for our senior school children. Well done to all who participated. With 5 individual medals and team medals for our 3rd/4th class girls and 5th/6th team medals we had a really successful day
A huge thanks to the organisers who did a great job organising the event in Crokes after Storm Agnes threatened the whole event. We are already looking forward to next year’s event!

Sustainable Energy Communities

You are invited to an autumn series of short online meetings (by zoom) for  Tipperary community groups and SECs interested in developing local energy projects. The meetings take place on Wednesday evenings, 8pm, by zoom, during September and October, beginning on Wednesday September 13th.

The event will include 

  • Update on supports available under SEAI’s Sustainable Energy Communities Programme

  • The process of getting SEAI to fund a local Energy Audits and a energy plan for your community

The meeting will be hosted by Gearóid Fitzgibbon, the Sustainable Energy Communities mentor for the SEAI. (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland).

Chair Yoga and Meditation

There is active retirement Chair Yoga and Meditation in the Community Centre, Borrisoleigh at 11am on Thursday mornings. They are run in 4 week blocks.  To book ring Nora Shanahan on 087-1473457.
