Cliffs of Moher – One of the 7 Wonders of Nature?

The Cliffs of Moher in Co Clare, one of Ireland’s iconic visitor attractions is one of the 28 finalists in a worldwide campaign to have the Cliffs officially designated as one of the 7 Wonders of Nature.  With the competition finishing in October 2011 it is hoped to instigate a huge effort to garner support for the Cliffs from within Ireland and indeed internationally.

The Cliffs is the only Irish and indeed British Isles finalist and having the Cliffs as one of the 7 Wonders could potentially have a huge positive impact on tourism and the economy both locally and nationally. Indeed a competition such as this could help support a pride in Ireland and all things Irish – such positivity can only be welcomed especially now.

Family Fun Walk at Fantane National School

Braving the elements!

Last Sunday Fantane School had a family fun walk, which ended back at the school for a presentation from the Board of Management of a wooden carved statue (by local sculptor
Phil Bourke) of the schools patron Saint, St Brigid. Then we had our draw for the Tipperary Jerseys and refreshments. The Parents Association would like to thank everyone who sold or bought a line in the draw. The support was amazing. We’d also like to thank Brendan Maher for coming to present the prizes and to everyone who braved the weather on Sunday. We had a great turn out. Thank You.
