Marian Hall AGM

The postponed Marian Hall AGM will be held on Wednesday 18th October at 7.30pm in the Marian Hall. New members are always welcome.

 

Tipperary Volunteer Centre

 

As part of Tipperary Mental Health week Tipperary Volunteer Centre are delighted to invite you to their online lunchtime workshop on Thursday, 12th October from 1-2pm. The topic will be the ‘Positive Impact of Volunteering on Health and Wellbeing’.   

This workshop will be delivered via zoom and though it is a free event please reserve your place by clicking here.

We will be exploring how volunteering helps people:

  • Connect with your local community
  • Increase your social circle
  • Get the feel good factor – ‘Do Good, Feel Good’
  • Develop new skills and update your CV
  • Build communication skills, patience, teamwork & creativity and social skills
  • Continuous learning: Share skills and knowledge, learn from others
  • Have fun!

3. The Diocese of Elphin wishes to recruit a Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. The role is to foster existing initiatives in youth and young adult ministry, and to work towards building the relationships which will lead to fresh initiatives in centres of population throughout the Diocese of Elphin. Community Bike Ride

 

 

The community cycle last Sunday went to Moyne Tea Rooms for the refreshment stop in beautiful sunshine and we met up with the Borrisoleigh cycling team who also enjoyed their stop in Moyne. Lovely to meet up with them and the autumn sunshine added to the enjoyment. Next Sunday we will visit the Bush and Briar for refreshments on a local cycle.

The Knitting and Crochet Group continues to meet on Wednesdays from 10.00am to 11.30am. New members always welcome.

Sustainable Energy Communities

You are invited to an autumn series of short online meetings (by zoom) for  Tipperary community groups and SECs interested in developing local energy projects. The meetings take place on Wednesday evenings, 8pm, by zoom, during September and October..

The event will include 

  • Update on supports available under SEAI’s Sustainable Energy Communities Programme

  • The process of getting SEAI to fund a local Energy Audits and a energy plan for your community

  • Examples of other local community energy projects

  • Discussion and questions

The meeting will be hosted by Gearóid Fitzgibbon, the Sustainable Energy Communities mentor for the SEAI. (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland).
