(Back row:) Nicky, Aaron, Ray, Oran (Front row:) Dirk, Ewan, Fintan, George

St. Patrick’s B.N.S. recently hosted an under 11 hurling blitz. We were blessed with both great weather and great hurling! All the schools and spectators were treated to a feast of hurling and all the games were played in a very sporting manner. It was an excellent day for St. Patrick’s, as both Corville NS and ourselves progressed to the County Semi-Final!

 Saints All-Stars

Paddy with some of last year’s Saints All-Stars enthusiasts

Saints All-Stars will return this summer on Monday the 13th of August until Friday the 17th of August.  There will be the same games  as last year and a couple of new ones added to this.  Football, Soccer, Rugby and Hurling are the games and it will give all the children a chance to have fun in different sports.  All the coaches will be involved in sports that they excel at, so the children will get great coaching.  The price is the same as last year.  45 euro for one child for the week or 10 euro a day if he/she cannot attend all of the week.  There is 5 euro taken off the price for every child per family that has more than one attending.  For example, two children is 80 euro, three children is 120 euro and four children would be 160.  The hours are ten in the morning until two o’clock.  Although it is early in the year it would be a good idea to book early as the better ideas of numbers I have, the better the gifts I can get for the kids. The age group is between 5 and 14. You can book in your child/children or inquire about the camp by ringing/texting me on 086-3328697. Please indicate the age of child/children when sending in your text.

They had a great win with all the girls playing very well final score was Borris 4-3 Moycarkey 1-0. Well done to the girls and their mentors. Well done also to Aoife Delargy who made the under 15 Tipperary Development Squad.

 Borris Ileigh Juvenile GAA Club

Congratulations to Kieran Maher who was a member of the North Tipperary U16 team who won the Munster InterDivisional Cup last week end.

Our U 12 Group two Football team have had a busy week, beating Borrisokane in the Quarter Final last Friday night on a scoreline of 1 03 to 5 pts. The semi final was played on tuesday night in Borrisoleigh and the team put in a great performance and emerged victorious against Shannon Rovers. The final is fixed for this coming Saturday, 12 May v Silvermines in Newport at 12.30. As many parents and supporters as possible are encouraged to attend to support the team.

Our U16 Footballers were comprehensively beaten by Kildangan Gaels in the Semi Final last week. The U14’s are still awaiting the outcome of other fixtures to know if they still retain an interest in the U14 competition.

Last week end our U6’s, 8’ and U10’s hosted a series of games against Ballinora of Cork. Thanks to all who helped out on the morning and to Stapletons bar who catered for the visiting team.
