Borris-Ileigh Juvenile GAA Club

Hurling Championship: U12 Our division 2 team following a good win over Templederry in the quarter final, lost out to Borrisokane in the semi-final. Despite a very good display, the early goals conceded meant we were chasing the game and despite reducing the gap to 2 points we couldn’t get any closer. Well done to all the young players and mentors Michael Delaney, Damian Dunne and John Walsh for their efforts throughout the year. The Div 3 team also suffered defeat in their quarter final against Roscrea. Again this was a very good display from our players and well done to them and mentors Paddy Ryan & John Vahey for all the effort put in. U14 Hurling C/ship, we are awaiting our semi final opponents in the North c/ship and due to a play off this won’t be known until later in the week. Date for semi-finals not yet decided. U16s, losses to Ballina, Newport and Toomevara despite playing some very good hurling in recent weeks mean we are unlikely to qualify for the semi-finals.

Our U13s took part in the L.J Drennan Tournament in Kilcotton on Sat 16th July and came away with a win a draw and a defeat but didn’t make the knockout stage. Thanks to Kilcotton for the invitation and hospitality

VHI Cul Camp will take place in Borrisoleigh from the 8th to the 12th of August 2011. Cost is EUR55 for 1st child, EUR45 for second child and EUR35 for third/fourth child. It is important to note that parents should register their children taking part on line at www.vhiculcamps.gaa.ie and follow the instructions given. Queries can be made to any committee member.
