Mental Health Peer – Support Training with Cycle Against Suicide

Our training in Mental Health Peer – Support creates a compassionate network within a club and a community. Our training transcends traditional boundaries, breaking down the stigma associated with mental health discussions. The benefits are profound and far-reaching. Trained peer-supporters are attuned to subtle shifts in their community’s well-being. This heightened awareness fosters a culture of genuine care and concern. No funding is necessary to do our training. We offer it free to all club, association and community volunteers in a drive to encourage people to take on this vital role for their own community, and help bring Peer-Support to the heart of communities as a critical part of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

Members of the Borrisoleigh Active Social Club had a lovely afternoon last Friday at The Cottage Loughmore.  The hospitality of Mary and all the staff was 2nd to none. We were entertained by the children and teachers of the local primary school.  One member of our club Margaret celebrated her birthday and it was acknowledged on the day.

Borris-Ileigh GAA History Book

Hi all,

I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.

The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!

If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.

I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.

Many thanks for your help,

Michael Small
