Appeal for News

This is an appeal to those of you who are involved in various activities (which have increased a lot recently), not to forget to send us an email with a few lines and maybe a photo or two publicising what you are doing. The regular users of this site (particularly those not on social media) would like to see them and it will help paint a fuller picture of what is taking place in and around Borrisoleigh. We rely on you, the local community, to send us your news.

Thanks,

Borris-Ileigh Camogie Club Notes

Borris-Ileigh, County Under 16 Champions

Under 16 County Champions:

The crowd that turned up to witness the County Under 16 final in the Ragg on Thursday night last were treated to an absolute thriller as two brilliantly prepared team gave it everything in quest of glory for 60 minutes.

Silvermines had the upper hand when we met earlier in the year but when the final whistle sounded after the final, the result was reversed and the cup was returning to Borris on a final scoreline of Borris-Ileigh 3-06 Silvermines 3-02.

A huge congrats to all the team members and the team management for their brilliant performances in the final and right throughout the whole season.

Under 12 County Final:

It’s destination the Ragg again tomorrow (Thursday) night when our Under 12 maroon team will take on Slieve Felim Rapperees in the County Final. Throw in is 6:30pm and it would be great to see the Maroon Army travel again in force to support the girls in their quest to bring a second county title home in a week.

Winning Start for Intermediates:

Our Intermediate Championship kick-started last Saturday evening with a home encounter with the league champions, Newport/Ballinahinch.

Following an excellent performance, we emerged winners on a 3-13 to 3-06 scoreline.

Our next outing is against Cahir in Borrisoleigh on Saturday evening next with a 5pm throw in. Hopefully we’ll see a good crowd in to support our team.

Our Under 8 team are in action tonight (Wednesday) in a challenge match at home to Toomevara. More details on our Facebook page.
