The U12 Panel

Our U 12 Group two Football team played their Divisional Football final against Silvermines in Newport on Saturday morning last. The game turned out to be a thriller. We got off to a great start with two early goals, however Silvermines fought back to within a point at the break. The second half again was a tight affair with points traded on several ocassions. With the final whistle approaching a pointed free from Aaron Rabbitte put the game into extra time. A goal in the first half of extra time gave Silvermines the advantage, however Borris fought on tenaciously to the end but could not breakdown a resolute defence. All players put in a great effort throughout the game and can be proud of their performance and of the way they represented the club in the final. Well done to all concerned. We await confirmation of the County U12 Football end game fixture. The first round of the U12 hurling will take place on Friday 1st of June.

  Borris-Ileigh GAA News

Senior Hurling: Last Sunday we played out a draw with Kilruane. In the first half we had a strong wind in our favour and at half time we were eleven points to the good. Kilruane put us under a lot of pressure in the second half and with a few minutes remaining they were one point in front. With time just up we won a twenty one yard free and took the point to draw the game. This was a game of of two halves and probably a draw was a fair result. We now have one match remaining and this is against Kiladangan, date and time to be confirmed. We have a lot of injuries at present and hopefully they will all be cleared up for this important game.
Junior C Hurling: This match was cancelled last week so it will probably take place this week. We will keep you informed.
Minor Football: We were defeated by Kilruane last Friday evening by four points. Fixtures will be out tomorrow so we will notify you immediately.
Anyone interested in ordering tickets for Tipp match please contact Gerry Treacy immediately. 086 3958405.
Merchandise is available every Saturday in the pavilion between 11am to 1pm or contact 087 9439531.

Scór AGM
