Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club headed off to Knock last Friday. It was an early start with us leaving at 8am. We were so lucky with lovely weather for the day. Thankfully we arrived back safely shortly after 9pm. Many thanks to Seamus from Callanan’s who was our driver for the day. Here’s to our next trip!!

For the month of June every Thursday at 12.30pm members are going to meet in the GAA park. The idea is to get members familiar with using the exercise equipment which was installed during the year.  Feel free to join us.

Our next monthly meeting is June 5th at 7pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.

Borris-Ileigh GAA History Book

Hi all,

I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.

The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!

If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.

I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.

Many thanks for your help,

Michael Small

U-14 Camogie Team

Hard Luck to our U-14 Camogie Team who lost to Boherlahan in the County Final last Wednesday. They played with great heart, and determination and they never give up.

Renewal of Commitment – Eucharistic Ministers

During next Saturday evening’s Mass of the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Eucharistic Ministers of both churches in our parish will have the opportunity to renew their commitment to this ministry. I would encourage all our Eucharistic Ministers to attend this Mass and renew their commitments. This will take place on Sat June 1st @ 7pm.

Blessing of Cars & other vehicles

The blessing of cars and other vehicles will take place in the Park on Sat June 8th after the 7pm Mass (approx. 7.45pm.) I would encourage as many of you to bring your cars to have them blessed.
