Variety Concert

A Variety Concert in aid of Mary’s Meals will be held in The Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh on Fri. 6th October at 8pm.Mary’s Meals feeds more than 2 million children in the world’s poorest countries. All support would be great and you can enjoy a lovely night too.

Chair Yoga and Meditation

There is active retirement Chair Yoga and Meditation in the Community Centre, Borrisoleigh at 11am on Thursday mornings. They are run in 4 week blocks.  To book ring Nora Shanahan on 087-1473457.
 

Sustainable Energy Communities

You are invited to an autumn series of short online meetings (by zoom) for  Tipperary community groups and SECs interested in developing local energy projects. The meetings take place on Wednesday evenings, 8pm, by zoom, during September and October, beginning on Wednesday September 13th.

The event will include 

  • Update on supports available under SEAI’s Sustainable Energy Communities Programme

  • The process of getting SEAI to fund a local Energy Audits and a energy plan for your community

  • Examples of other local community energy projects

  • Discussion and questions

The meeting will be hosted by Gearóid Fitzgibbon, the Sustainable Energy Communities mentor for the SEAI. (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland).

1. CANCELLATION OF “The Priests” in CONCERT – It is with regret that Thurles Parish announce the cancellation of “The Priests” Concert this Friday, September 29th in Thurles Cathedral. The cancellation is due to the illness of one of the artists. 
 
Refunds available through the Parish Office, Thurles 0504 22229. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
 
2. Hail Holy Queen Conference 2023 – is live on Radio Maria Ireland from 2pm on Saturday 7th Oct. Speakers include Fr. Seán Maguire, Fr. Colum Power, Catherine McGowan, Fr. Freddy Warner. Radio Maria Ireland can be listened to by downloading the Radio Maria Ireland App, Saorview Channel 210 or listen live at 01 4373277. 
 
2. Volunteers Needed – Borrisoleigh Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to help prepare and deliver food to older people in our community and neighbouring communities. People who are interested may volunteer for one hour or any one of the days Monday – Friday mornings. If you are interested in volunteering you may contact Sinead in the Parish Centre. 
 
3. Congratulations – to our minor hurlers who won the North Final recently. It was a fantastic achievement. Well done to all concerned. Congratulations also to our U-13 camogie team who were crowned County A league champions in Boherlahan last weekend. they showed great character and perseverance. Again well done to all concerned. 
 
4. Good Luck – to our U-15 hurlers who will play Toomevara in the North Final.
