Welcome home to those who are visiting family for Christmas
Members of the Léiriú group with Councillors Michael Smith & Willie Kennedy
2014 came to an exciting end for the members of Borrisoleigh’s All-Ireland winning Léiriú group when they were awarded a Civic Reception by Tipperary Co. Council at Damer House, Roscrea in acknowledgement of their achievement. In welcoming the group on behalf of the Council, current Chairperson of Thurles / Templemore Municipal District, Michael Smith, reminded all present that the last recipient of a Civic Reception in Roscrea was Former President of Ireland, Mary Mc Aleese. He led the tributes to the talented Borrisoleigh group and to members of Coláiste Phobal, Roscrea’s All-Ireland winning hurling team. This was a great honour for our group, all of whom were presented with special certificates in recognition of their achievement in bringing All-Ireland honours to Tipperary. All associated with Borrisoleigh Léiriú Team would like to express their gratitude to Tipperary Co. Council for according them such a special event. Unavoidably missing from the photograph is Aaron Rabbitte and all concerned send best wishes to him and all the family in sunny Australia!
