Pilates Classes

Pilates classes will resume in the Community Center Borrisoleigh on Tuesday September 10th at 7.30pm sharp. Contact Geri on 087 6491725 if interested.


Fitness Classes coming soon




Please keep an eye on the website in the coming weeks for dates and times of the fitness classes I will be running in Borrisoleigh. It will be exercise based on circuits but it is possible to adapt each exercise for all fitness levels, genders and age groups, so there is no need for anyone to be intimidated.

There will be an information night initially so that people will know what it is all about.

Ad Astra Academic Scholarship
Scholarship for exceptional Leaving Certificate results

Congratulations to Brian Ryan, Thurles on his excellent leaving results at St Joseph’s College, Borrisoleigh. He received a place in UCD on the basis of his 6 A1 & 1 A2 and due to these exceptional results he may be eligible for an Ad Astra Academic Scholarship in University College Dublin.
Ad Astra academic scholars receive the support of a dedicated academic mentor, and participate in a programme of workshops, seminars and events to develop academic and personal potential.
This scholarship entitles Brian to a bursary(€1000), a reduction in student contribution/fees(50%) and an allowance towards the cost of on or off campus accommodation.
We wish Brian all the success in UCD and his chosen career.

Call in for a cup of tea/coffee, cappuccino, herbal tea with a delicious homemade scone; collect your home grown vegetables for dinner and treat you and the family to home baking for “afters”. Whilst you are sitting in relaxing and friendly surroundings enjoy the local art, jewellery, wood and slate products on sale, making gift buying easier than stressful city shopping!

Borrisoleigh store nominated for top prize in National Q Mark awards

Shanahan’s Foodstore has been nominated for a top prize in National Q Mark Awards having seen off tough competition from hundreds of excellent Irish businesses.
Irene Collins, the Managing Director of Excellence Ireland Quality Association, announced that the team from Shanahan’s Foodstore have exceeded the normal standards of quality and excellence and have set the standard that all other companies should be aiming for.
She went on to say that, “The nomination in this category recognises that Shanahans’s Foosdtore is operating at the highest standard of Hygiene and Food Safety in the country.”
Shanahan’s Foodstore is a family run business employing a dedicated workforce of 20 full and part-time people.


Paint Collection – Saturday 31st August

Borrisoleigh Festival Organisers are holding a paint collection on Satuday 31st August.
Any unused or unwanted tins of paint suitable for outdoor use are wanted for use in sprucing up some old buildings/window boards etc. around Borrisoleigh in the lead up to the Festival being held on Oct 4th, 5th & 6th. If you have any unwanted paint, half pots of paint etc. please bring them to the collection point in the Square between 12pm and 2pm. Please only bring usable paint.


Underage:Our under 8’s have a challenge match on wed the 28th in Toomevara at 6.30pm
Intermediate Team: Preparation continues for our intermediate panel they had a challenge match against Rathdowney on Sunday in the Ragg. Round 2 of the intermediate championship set for Saturday the 31st August at home against Templemore at 6.45 pm.
Administration: The club will be holding another clothing collection again on Saturday the 12th October please bear us in mind if doing a clear out.
