Junior Cert & Leaving Cert Examinations

Best of Luck to those sitting exams over the next few weeks!

An Exam Prayer

God stay close to me today
Guide my study and light my way.
Ease my nerves and comfort me
With peace and love so tenderly.
May I remember the things I need
And understand all I study and read.
May I strive to give my best
And do myself justice in each test.
May the topics I know and like appear
On the exam paper to lessen my fear.
And during the moments I may feel stressed
I’ll try to remember the ways I’m blessed.
And if there are times that I feel at sea,
Help me to trust that you’re here with me.

Amen.

Thought for the week

Kindness has a beautiful way of reaching down into a weary heart and making it shine like the rising sun.

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

Borrisoleigh Active Social Club will hold a meeting this Wed June 5th at 7pm. This is our last meeting until September so activities for the summer break will be discussed/organised.

Starting this Thursday June 6th and every Thursday for June at 12.30pm we’ll meet up at the outdoor exercise equipment in the Gaa park. This is a chance to be shown how to use these safely and among friends.

In view of the current concerns about road safety, Fr. Hennessy will perform a blessing of cars ceremony. This will take place immediately after 7pm Mass on Sat June 8th in the Town Park.

Borris-Ileigh GAA History Book

Hi all,

I’ve been tasked with compiling and writing a history of GAA activity in the primary schools, e.g. North Finals/ County Finals, Primary Game, INTO mini sevens etc.

The more recent history is fairly well documented, however older records are sparse. I don’t want to leave anyone out!

If you are aware of any noteworthy GAA related facts from 1987 to present in relation to Fantane NS, St Theresa’s GNS, St Patrick BNS or Scoil Naomh Cualán please get in contact with me at scoilnaomhcualan@gmail.com. Or you can drop photos, newspaper cuttings etc. into the school and I’ll photocopy or scan what’s needed.

I’m looking for photos of teams, photos of Primary Game representatives, write ups from finals, coaches that were involved over the years, pupils who went on to represent Tipperary in the various codes, GAA quiz winners etc.

Many thanks for your help,

Michael Small
