Kellogg’s Cúl Day Out

On Wednesday 10th October, James Kelly of The Orchard, Borrisoleigh, was chosen to attend the Kelloggs Cúl Day Out in Croke Park.  As part of this prize he was invited to spend the day in Croke Park, where the children were given a guided tour of Croke Park and the GAA museum.  They were also treated to a skills session on the pitch, followed by a match where James scored 2 goals and 3 points from the full back position.  James had a great day and received a complimentary playing kit and lots of goodies courtesy of Kelloggs!!  He also got to handle both the Liam McCarthy and the Sam Maguire cups, and we hope it won’t be the last time we see the Liam McCarthy in his hands!!

Road Safety

The children of Fifi’s Tots Preschool are busy learning road safety at the moment.
Thank you to Garda Mark Rabbitte who visited recently and chatted with the children and showed them how to cross the road safely.

Borris-Ileigh GAA Notes

U21 A Hurling: We were comprehensively beaten by Kilruane last Sunday afternoon in Roscrea. This was a poor performance overall. We are now in the losers group where we will play Nenagh and the winners meet Lorrha. The winners of this losers group will go on to play Kilruane in the semi-final. We need to up our performance immensely and some players will have to stand up to the mark. There is no fixture for this weekend so a challenge game is arranged versus Templederry. The management will inform everyone of time date and venue so we need all players to attend.

Junior C Hurling: As of yet we have received no fixture. There will be training on Friday night with the U21 team. Please attend.

Development: Both goalmouths and 21 yards have been re-sodded and we would appreciate if people refrained from playing on same. We will be monitoring this at all times so please abide by our request. Thanking you . Thanks to all who helped with the re-sodding last Friday and Saturday. It was great to see so many people helping out.

Congratulations to Donal O’Driscoll who won first prize in the Tipp GAA Draw recently. Also to Ger Gleeson of Silvermines who won our Lotto Jackpot. Next draw is in Stapletons pub Main Street this Thursday 25th all are welcome.
