Minor Hurling:
We had a good win against Portroe last week. We have one more match against Borrisokane and a win here still puts us in with a chance of qualifying depending on other results. This match is down for Friday but it will probably go back to next week.

Junior A Hurling: On Monday night last we had to win our match to qualify but unfortunately we lost out by one point in a very close game against Toomevara. This was a very good display and we were unlucky to lose. If only we had a full compliment of players this team would win a North Final but, like every other year we lose players to the Senior team which depletes our panel immensely. Nevertheless great credit is due to all players and management for their huge efforts. Well done to all concerned.

Senior Hurling: All roads lead to Clonoulty this Thursday evening for match versus Cappawhite at 7 o’clock in the Co.Championship. Your support would be greatly appreciated so please come along and cheer on the team.

Commiserations to the Tipp Senior team who lost to Kilkenny last Sunday. It just was not their day. Congratulations to the Minor Team who qualified for the All -Ireland final and to our own Martin Maher who is a selector. The best of luck in the All-Ireland.

Club merchandise is available every Saturday between 11am to 1pm in the Pavilion or contact 087 9439531. New stock is now available.

The club extends its deepest sympathies to the family and relatives of Pakie Costelloe who passed away recently. Indeed Pakie was involved in the running of the club for years and years and was the current President of the Club. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.

U12 Hurling: This Saturday afternoon @ 2.30 our U12 team will be in action in Littleton in the quarter Final of the Premier End games Group 2. The semi final and finals will also be played on the day at 3.30 and 4.30pm approx for qualifying teams. Best of luck to all concerned and it would be great to see a good crowd in attendance to support the team on the day.

U14 Hurling: Our U14 hurlers are playing Silvermines in round one of the plate competition this evening Wednesday in Dolla. After a good run in the championship hopefully they will maintain the progress in this competition

U16A Hurling: On Tuesday evening our U16 Hurlers played their North Quarter Final against Newport/Ballinahinch. The side got off to a great start with goals from Gerry Kelly, Michéal Carey and Kieran Maher in the first half. In the second half the opposition put on a lot of pressure and closed the margin to three points. In the end Borris Ileigh held on to win on a scoreline Borris Ileigh 3-08 Newport Ballinahinch 1-10. We meet Nenagh Eire Og next Monday in Borrisoleigh in the semi final.

Our Junior team played the second round of the championship away against Knockavilla on Tuesday the 21st August. Again they had another comprehensive win, well done ladies and trainers. The first half was all Borrisoleigh’s with the score at half time 3-5 to 0-1. However the Knockavilla team fought back in the second half putting our defence under a lot of pressure. We won many of the battles with the score at full time being Borris 4-9 Knockavilla 1-8. The scorers for Borrisoleigh were Nicole Walsh 0-7, Noirin Treacy 1-0, Sinead Ryan 2-0, Mary Bradshaw 0-1, Deirdre Corcoran 1-0 and Jane McCormack 0-1. The remaining dates for the Junior A championship are 2nd September at home to Kildangan, 8th September away to Fethard and 22nd September at home to Holycross. All matches to start at 7 p.m.. The club wishes Joanne and Martin every happiness on the occasion of their wedding.

Under 12 training parents/guardians will be texted.
