Borrisoleigh Camogie Notes

Our under 12’s had their second blitz of the season on Saturday.   They had a home venue this time round.  Six teams played in total Borrisoleigh, Drom & Inch, Toomevara, Nenagh, Kildangan, and Shannon Rovers.  Borrisoleigh played in five matches and did very well in all their games.  Their next Blitz should be the weekend of the 7th April, 2012; parents will be informed when details are confirmed.

The junior team had their first challenge game of the season which resulted in a defeat against Kildangan.  We were missing a lot of our panel on the night however the remaining players put on a great game.   We have our first league match this Sunday 1st April at 12pm in the Camogie Grounds, The Ragg against Fethard, full details will be given at training on Friday evening.  We wish you the best of luck ladies.

Under 12, 14, 16 and 18 have training Saturday at 12 noon.  Juniors have training Friday evening at 7 pm.  Any changes will be notified by text.  The under 6, 8 and 10 continues on Tuesday evening at 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm, please note venue has changed to the Park.   Could all girls bring their helmets, hurleys and shin guards.   The under 10’s have their first blitz of the season this Saturday 31st March in Toomevara at 11 a.m.  We wish you the best of luck girls.

Can all members who haven’t already done so return your membership forms and insurance fees thanks.

The Camogie Club would like to wish the Borrisoleigh Novelty Act and Set Dancers the very best of luck for the Munster Final of Senior Scor which takes place in Templemore on 31st March 2012 at 6pm.

Borris Ileigh Juvenile GAA

In round two of the U16 Football championship against a strong Kildangan / Ballinahinch combination we emerged victorious on a 2-10 to 1-09 scoreline.

U12 football our group two team played the first game of the season on Friday evening last and despite a very spirited performance were unfortunate to loose by the narrowest of margins, on a scoreline Shannon Rover Gaels 1 -05 Borris Ileigh 1-04.  Players to shine on the night included Fintan Holland, Liam Ryan and Dan Ryan.  Both our group two and group three teams are in action this coming Friday night, our group two team against Burgess in Borrisoleigh and the group three team in Shallee against Ballinahinch.  Once again we remind parents to notify the team manager in advance if any player is going to be absent for any U12 fixture as we need all players available to fulfil both fixtures.

Commiserations to our U14 Feile team who were narrowly beaten by Roscrea on Saturday last.  The U 14 football season gets up and running this Wednesday evening.

The Juvenile Club will again be holding its annual table quiz in the Marian Hall on Good Friday night.  All parents and supporters are asked to make a big effort to attend for what has traditionally been a very enjoyable night.
