Presentation to Fr Irwin


Presentation on behalf of St Theresa’s Primary School

Mary Butler, Principal of Saint Theresa’s Primary made a presentation to Father Irwin on behalf of the school.  She thanked him for his hard work, dedication and support that he had given to the school over the last thirteen and a half years and particularly in his role as Chairperson of the Board of Management.  She wished him the very best of luck in the future as he heads to Gortnahoe/Glengoole as Parish Priest.  Included in the photo are Kathleen Ryan, Susan Hoare,Tina Lyons, Philip Bourke, Mary Butler and Rev. Father Irwin.

Tipperary Regional Youth Service
The Tipperary Regional Youth Service would like to hear from people interested in becoming a volunteer leader to restart the Youth Club that was setup a couple of years ago in Borrisoleigh.  There were a large number of people interested at that time.  If people are interested, they can contact Maura Carey at trysrow@trys.ie or 087 2860991.

Borrisoleigh Camoige Notes

The Tipperary Camogie County Board will hold a sale of work and goods auction in the county camogie grounds on Sunday 19th February 2012 at 1.30 p.m.  If anyone has good quality toys, clothes, bric’ n’brac, books etc. to donate they will be greatly appreciated.  Please drop donations to Carmel Harkins anytime on or before Friday 17th February.  Buns, cakes etc. will also be welcome on the day.  Borrisoleigh Camogie Club wish the County Board every success in this fundraising endeavour.  Under 14 & 16 training will be at 1 pm on Saturday, Under 12 training at 11.30 also on Saturday.  Junior training 10am Saturday.

The Borrisoleigh Novelty Act Group were the winners of the North Final and runners-up in the County Final.  Congratulations to all members of the group and their mentors.  Well done also to the Question Time team who won the North Final.

Borris-Ileigh GAA News

U21A Football: We play Kildangan next Saturday the 18th of February in Puckane at 3pm in the first round.  Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Senior training is going well at present.  We played a challenge game last Sunday against the Brackens and although short a few regulars we ended up with a draw.  Next Friday we play Moycarkey under lights at 7.30pm.  Membership is now due so contact our registrar John Bradshaw or any committee member.  Our next committee meeting will take place in the Pavilion on Wednesday 22nd February at 9pm.  A text will be sent out later.

The club extends its sympathy to the family and relatives of Josie Treacy who passed away recently.   Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.
