 Filming in Glenkeen

Brendan Bracken

A documentary about Brendan Bracken who was born in Templemore in 1901 and whose mother was buried at the Glenkeen Graveyard in 1928 is currently being filmed by a Spanish Company, Marbella Productions. Some film was taken in the Glenkeen Graveyard in September.
This documentary traces the life of Brendan Bracken from his Irish Republican roots in Fenian Central Ireland in 1901, through his school days in three countries, his rise to business and political power, his friendship with Winston Churchill over thirty years and finally his accession to the peerage, his life, loves -or lack of them – and his early death in 1958 ages 57 years, after which, by his own command all his papers were destroyed.
