Happy Christmas to all our readers from all the website committee

Christmas Lights

The Borrisoleigh Christmas Tree and Lights were switched on on Sunday December 2nd in front of a large crowd. The honour of switching on the lights were given to retired school principal Kay Ryan to thank her for her years of dedicated service to the children of the parish. The U12 County Final winning teams were also honoured on the night. We even had a surprise visit from Santa!

Mass will be celebrated on Sunday December 23rd @ 11am for those included in our remembrance books.

The bows can still be got. They’re for sale in Jane’s flower cabin & the remembrance book will be there also until Dec 22nd.

A lot of work has been undertaken at Ballyroan to enhance the appearance of the entrance to Borrisoleigh from Nenagh and to provide a safe enjoyable walkway.

St. Joseph’s College Notes

Festive Friday was celebrated in St. Joseph’s College on Friday 14th December. Organised by the 3rd Year CSPE students under the guidance of Ms. Nicole Walsh, all students were asked to wear somehing festive to raise much needed funds for our local homeless charity Novas.Well done to all involved for their contribution. A total of €470 was collected.The winning students receiived some lovely hampers donated by the staff.The highlight was a outdoor scene of the toys on Christmas morning staged by 1st Years.


St. Stephen’s Day 5 km Run and Walk


Borris-Ileigh Juvenile GAA Club

To raise funds for the Juvenile Club there will be a raffle for a trailer of timber. Tickets will be on sale this Saturday 22nd Dec. outside Shanahan’s Centra. Wouldn’t that be a lovely Christmas present to keep you warm this winter! Your support is greatly appreciated.

Our U12s will be taking part in a training session organised by The Tipperary Senior Hurling Panel for U12 Juvenile teams across the county in Thurles this Sat. 22nd Dec. as a fundraiser for the Amanda Stapleton Fund and Running For Josie.

Car Air Fresheners

New Borris-Ileigh Car Air Fresheners are on sale. €3 each or 2 for €5. The cost of the air fresheners have been sponsored by Andy Spillane Savvy Kitchens with all the proceeds going to the Juvenile Club. If you would like to purchase some you can text/ring Henry on 086-0672743 or Bernice on 083-8578309. Your support would be appreciated to help us raise funds for our club.
