Borrisoleigh Active Social Club

It was a busy few days for the Borrisoleigh Active Social Club.  On Fri last a bus load went to Áras an Uachtaráin.  They had a tour of the house and enjoyed refreshments.  On their way home they enjoyed a lovely meal in The Póitin Stil Rathcoole. Great day was had by all.  Also on Fri another bus load headed for Monaghan.  They had a full weekend of music, song and dancing. Among the music artists were Hugo Duncan, Michael English, Red Hurley,  Calum Macphail, Richard Willoughby, Stuart Moyles, Alistair Fingleton and the Celtic Brothers . 

 
Tickets are on sale for our Annual Progressive 45 Drive. This year proceeds of the game will be shared with the Irish Heart Foundation and Borrisoleigh Active Social Club.  It’s on Sat April 11th @8pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.  Prize fund €1,000.  
 
The next monthly meeting takes place on Wed March 4th at 7pm in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.

Date for the diary is April 11th for our annual 45 Drive in the Community Centre Borrisoleigh.  €1000 prize fund and proceeds to the Irish Heart Foundation and Borrisoleigh Active Social Club.  All support would be appreciated. 

Borrisoleigh Bridge

Congratulations to Joey Gleeson on winning the Borrisoleigh Cup at a recent
Bridge competition. Our Bridge president Veronica Molloy presented Joey with 
the prize. Well done Joey.


Meals on Wheels Launches Reusable Container Pilot Project

We’re delighted to share that NTDC’s Meals on Wheels service is taking an important step toward a greener future. As part of our commitment to reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable community, we’re introducing reusable food containers as part of a new pilot programme on selected routes.

This initiative will help us:

  • Reduce single‑use packaging
  • Lower our environmental footprint
  • Deliver meals in a more sustainable, community‑friendly way

Together, we’re making a real difference

MONTHLY PADRE PIO MASS

Our monthly St. Padre Pio healing Mass is on Wednesday night 28/02/2026 @ 7.30pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Toomevara. All present can avail of a blessing from 3 first class relics of St. Pio, St. Faustina and St. Therese of the little flower. These special Masses on the last Wednesday of each month have been very well attended and thanks to all for making the effort to attend and thanks to all for publicising it for us.

 

EPILEPSY AWARENESS DAY

Borrisoleigh Tidy Towns

There was great work done in 2 hrs by a small crew on Sat Feb 7th along the streets of the village. The next meet is at Ballyroan bridge at 10 am on Sat 7th March. All are welcome to come along.


Knitting and Crochet Group

Knitting and Crochet Group meet every Wednesday from 10.00am to 11.30am in the Community Centre.

Eucharistic Adoration

Adoration in the Church of the Sacred Heart Borrisoleigh will take place after 10:00am Mass until 11:30 am on Wednesdays and Fridays

 

 

Adult Set Dancing Classes

Adult Set Dancing classes are taking place every Monday night in Finns Pub @ 8pm. Michael Cooney is running them. All are welcome.


Holycross Ballycahill Drama Group

Holycross Ballycahill Drama group present their 2026 Festival production of Sive by John B. Keane in St. Michael’s Community Centre Holycross on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th of February at 8pm.

General Admission €15, Consession and students €10.  A great night of entertainment guaranteed.   Raffle and teas on the night.
