Community Sponsorship Ireland

“Th’ whole worl’s in a terrible state o’ chassis”

A quote from Captain O’Boyle in  O’Casey’s ‘Juno and The Paycock’ in 1924, a turbulent period in our own history when our fledgling nation
was rising from a violent and bloody beginning. Over one hundred years later the violence, murder and mayhem proliferates across the world, with famine, disease and human rights violations following close behind.

If you, like me, feel powerless watching the awful events unfold on the nightly news, here is a chance to do something good and right.
Here is a chance to help people that are suffering, to help a family to relocate, revive, and survive. Please read the following information and if you feel you can offer any help or assistance please contact Jamie Groome on 0858566070. There will be an information evening this October (date to be confirmed) in our Community centre, delivered by the Irish Red Cross and DORAS.

There will be a meeting for all interested in the Community Hall, Borrisoleigh on 10th October 2025 at 19:30

Bulbs, plants, or roses

Herb cuttings and other plant cuttings

Irish shrubs (no trees or hedging, please)

Every contribution makes a big difference, and all donations will be put to good use in this community project.
