Borris-Ileigh GAA Club Notes

Junior:

Our Junior’s were in hard luck as they were narrowly defeated in Round 4 of the North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship last Friday evening. They lost out to Burgess in Kilcolman on a score line of 1-14 to 0-14. This result now means that we require a victory over Kilruane McDonaghs in our final to progress to a North Quarter Final.

U12:

Commiserations to our U12 ‘A’ team who’s year came to an end after defeat in their County Semi Final Replay against Holycross Ballycahill in Dundrum last Sunday afternoon. After such a great contest the first day things just didn’t go their way on the day as they were beaten 4-14 to 0-04. A tough defeat which isn’t a fair reflection on their ability but they lost nothing in defeat and can be very proud of their achievements this year. The future is certainly bright for these young hurlers.

 Upcoming Fixtures:

Our Senior’s will play the North Senior Hurling Championship Final against Nenagh Eire Og on Saturday the 2nd of September in McDonagh Park, Nenagh at 6pm. A victory would give us our first North title since 2007 when we were victorious over the same opponents.

Our Minor’s will attempt to book their place in the North Minor ‘B’ Hurling Championship Final when they take on Templederry/Ballinahinch in the Semi Final on Thursday the 31st of August. This game will take place at 7pm in Dolla.

Our U14’s will play their much anticipated North ‘B’ Hurling Final against Ballina on Saturday the 2nd of September in Dolla at 1pm.

Best of luck to all players and management in all grades.

All support greatly appreciated.
