 Election Debate at Nenagh Arts Centre 

Nenagh Arts Centre presents an election debate with the North Tipperary Candidates for the 2011 General Election.

This will offer the public an opportunity to speak to candidates -(Maire Hoctor (FF), Alan Kelly (LAB),  Noel Coonan (FG), Seamus Morris (SF), Michael Lowry (Ind) and Olywyn O’Malley (Greens) – about local and national issues that affect them. The Candidates are offered the opportunity to speak for five minutes on their record and their thoughts for the future. Chairperson Garry Cotter, Editor of the Nenagh Guardian will then open up the debate to the floor for questions.

Admission is €5 with proceeds going to support the Arts Centre programme.

The event takes place at 8p.m. next Thursday in the Arts Centre, Town Hall, Banba Square. Tickets are available from the Centre in advance.

The Borrisoleigh Choir night out was held in Finns on Friday last.

German Christmas Market

Enjoying the food tasting!
The pupils of St. Theresa’s enjoyed the wonderful tastes and aromas at their German Christmas Market.The school are linking with a German school on the Swiss German border and an exchange of cards has already taken place.In early February,Paddy the Bear will be travelling with letters for pen-pals,sweets and a diary to Germany. Bruno, the German bear will be arriving shortly to find out about Borrisoleigh, and maybe learn the skills of hurling from Brendan and Paddy!.
Credit Union Quiz


Congratulations to Orla, Martina, Ciara and Hazel on achieving second place in the Templemore Credit Union Quiz. Well done Mrs.Keneally! In the younger category Avril, Amy, Laura and Gretta thoroughly enjoyed their challenge and gave a great performance. Congratulations to all!!

Mick Bourke of Chapel Street RIP

The death occurred on Saturday 5th February of Mick Bourke of Chapel Street. His Funeral Mass took place in the Sacred Heart Church Borrisoleigh on Monday 7th February with burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery. We offer our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
