The booklet for the Borrisoleigh Festival, which takes place on July 24th, 25th and 26th, is now being distributed throughout the area and is also available to pick up in local shops. Many thanks to all the sponsors and advertisers who make it possible to run the festival and ensure it’s success. There is something for everybody on the weekend. Irish TV (on Sky Channel 191) will be in attendance and filming some of the events on Saturday, so make sure to scrub up well! Volunteers are wanted to help out in various ways over the weekend, if you are available to help in any way please contact Fiona on 087-2169150. All help greatly appreciated. You can keep up to date with what’s happening via Facebook, Twitter and the website www.borrisoleighfestival.com

 Family Fun Day

Borris-Ileigh GAA News

Inter-County: A massive well done to Brendan, Paddy, Conor,Dan and all the Tipp team and management who overcame Waterford to become Munster Champions. It was a tight and tense affair in which the Tipp lads finished strongest to claim the title. The club was honoured to also have Brendan as captain, who on a busy day for himself, also was named as man of the match. They will now play their All Ireland Semi Final on August 16th.

Junior Hurling: As of now, we have no date for our nest match. Training continues as scheduled for all players. We overcame Templederry by 4 points in round 2 last Thursday night in Borris to get our season back on track. We have still to play Roscrea and Knockshegowna
Sympathies: The club would like to offer its deepest sympathies to the Kennedy and Tierney families of Huntsgrove and Glenbreeda on their recent loss. We would like also like to extent our sympathies to the Ryan family of Drumgill on the recent passing of Billy. Billy was a former club chairman and a staunch Borris man. May their souls rest in peace.

Borris-ileigh Camogie Club

Our Senior girls are back in action shortly in the Championship. Fixtures for August as follows:
Sat Aug 8th v Annacarty (away)
Sat Aug 22nd v Drom (home)

The U15 Summer League kicked off last Friday, but unfortunately, we were beaten by Kildangan, with a scoreline of 4-08 to 3-01. However, the scoreline did not reflect the play, and although down at half time 2-05 to 0-01, the play picked up for Borris in the second half, with excellent skill by Kate Delaney in the back line, the girls can be happy with this performance.
Scores from: Kate Delaney 2-01 and Laura Maher 1-00.
Next game Thursday July 23rd v Portroe (away).

U13 Summer League commenced on Tuesday July 13th v Portroe. Results to follow.

U12’s headed to Cuman to Croker on July 7th, a fantastic day’s camogie was had by all. To view more photos visit our Photo Gallery or click on the following links:

U10’s travelled to Gortahoe last Saturday for a great day of hurling. Teams participating in this blitz day were Moycarkey, Gortnahoe, Drom and Holycross. Many thanks to the host club Gortnahoe for all the refreshments.

Also, U10 Tomás Max Tournament takes place this year in conjunction with the Borrisoleigh Festival on Friday evening July 24th. Clubs to participate are Drom, Holycross, Moycarkey & Borris-Ileigh. This is a big event in our camogie juvenile calendar, and a great evening’s entertainment is guaranteed.
Borris-Ileigh were last year’s winners, and hope to regain the title.

U8’s due to host group blitz at home on July 18th. Best of luck to all.

Irish Pilgrimage Golf Classic

North Tipperary Branch would be very grateful if anyone could help with sponsorship for Tee Boxes, prizes or people that would play on the day.

All funds raised will go towards paying the fares of 11 young people with health, physical/learning difficulties from North Tipperary and surrounding areas to travel to Lourdes Easter 2016.
